I weave out of need.

Need of a movement, always identical to itself and precise
Need to feel and touch the material, to marry soft and rough, shiny and flat, to play with contraries.
Need of a rigorous technical background which itself comes from ……our history.

But also out of a need to insert myself in this tradition, to leave in it my imprint, which is in accord with my era.

But then why also using wood? …….and earth?

Perhaps a cabinetmaker as a grand father, unknown, never seen, one day lent over my cradle, and in spite of everything, empowered me with his passion.

And why earth?

The world of geology, with its strata, its movements and its fractures, is for me an open  page on the energies of the deep, which I would like to make mine!

Magic of tapestry making which, by the endlessly repeated interplay of two threads, creates a surface, a volume…an artwork?
